In the previous two articles in this series, I emphasized the importance of understanding the chronology of our family histories in the context of world history. This knowledge not only gives us an understanding of social history, which helps flesh out the names on our pedigree charts, but may also lead us to ask genealogical questions which help us locate forgotten documents or see known documents in a new light.
